Building Adventure 2025: A Sky-High Celebration of Courage and Community

The Outward Bound School partnered with One Mo Studio and Metramedia Broadcasting to live stream and broadcast the 10th Annual Building Adventure event — capturing every inspiring moment from 300 feet above Market Street in the heart of Philadelphia.

A Day of heights, giving, and Courage

On October 17, the Philadelphia skyline became a stage for courage and community as more than 120 rappelers took the leap from the top of Commerce Square for the Philadelphia Outward Bound School’s 10th Building Adventure.

From the moment the ropes went live, the energy was electric — a perfect day to celebrate challenge, discovery, and support for Philadelphia students.

Representing 19 teams — including students, alumni, educators, corporate partners, and local community members — participants descended 300 feet to raise more than $253,518 (and counting!) for POBS programs that inspire youth through adventure and experiential learning.

Behind the Broadcast: A Four-Camera Production

To bring this thrilling event to life, One Mo Studio and Metramedia Broadcasting produced a full-scale live broadcast featuring:

  • 🎥 A camera at the top of the building capturing the breathtaking first steps off the edge
  • 📸 A camera at the landing zone documenting every victorious finish
  • 🏙️ A camera across the street offering sweeping exterior perspectives of the rappellers’ descent
  • 🎤 A dedicated interview camera for live host commentary and guest conversations

All feeds were seamlessly integrated inside our Broadcast Production Van, which served as the control hub for video mixing, internet distribution, and real-time monitoring.

Our redundant power and internet systems ensured a smooth, uninterrupted stream — with backups for every key component.

A Multi-Angle Story of Courage

Each camera offered a unique perspective — from the intensity at the rooftop to the elation at the ground — creating a dynamic and cinematic broadcast that celebrated every angle of courage.

This production reflected the shared mission of Outward Bound: helping people discover what they are truly capable of when they step beyond their comfort zone — both in adventure and in life.
